About Justin Starr
Justin Starr’s path to leatherwork began after more than a decade spent building handmade furniture, where he developed an appreciation for time, care and attention that separate good work from lasting work. In 2018, he turned his focus to leather, bringing that same discipline into a smaller, more personal medium.
What began as Justin Starr Studio grew from small leather goods and traditional leatherworking instruction into a deeper more refined leather craft. In 2022, Justin founded Norfolk Handmade, creating pieces for private clients, corporate events, and those looking for leather goods made with a higher level of care than what is commonly available.
Over time, the work naturally moved toward bespoke handbags. In 2025, Norfolk Handmade became NORFOLK, a bespoke leather goods atelier focused on custom designs, and classic silhouettes made through a direct relationship between client and craftsman.
The MJ Crossbody, launched in 2026, marked the first original bespoke design under this new direction. First requested by Justin’s wife, the piece was long overdue and deeply personal, bringing together years of training, refinement, and dedication to the craft.
Today, Justin’s work is defined by thoughtful design, careful material selection, precise handwork, and a commitment to creating leather goods that feel personal, refined, and made to last.
